Overall, the number of unemployed in the district of the Freiburg Employment Agency fell again in April. As of the reporting date, a total of 15,619 women and men were unemployed in Freiburg and the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen. That is 309 people fewer than a month earlier. The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.2 percent. The rate among young people fell by 0.1 points to 2.6 percent. The decline is typical for April, according to the employment agency report. “If tourism, gastronomy and amusement parks had been able to open their gates like in normal times, the spring upswing would have been even stronger,” emphasizes the managing director of the Freiburg Employment Agency, Andreas Finke.
