203 new infections were reported (total: 60,894) as well as another death related to Covid-19. This increases the number of deaths to 734.
Sunday, September 5th: Incidence in Cologne falls below 130
The seven-day incidence in Cologne was 121.1 on Sunday morning. This is what the Robert Koch Institute stated. According to this, 201 people tested positive for the virus within one day.
The number of total cases is now 60,691. No further deaths were recorded.
Saturday, September 4th: Incidence in Cologne is falling significantly
The Robert Koch Institute showed a seven-day incidence of 131.3 for Cologne on Saturday morning. Within one day, 229 people tested positive for the virus. A total of 60,490 people in Cologne have been proven to have been infected with Corona so far. So far, the RKI has counted 733 deaths.
Friday, September 3rd: Incidence back below 140
The incidence in Cologne has fallen significantly compared to the previous day. On Friday morning, the RKI reported a value of 137.1. To this end, 205 new infections were registered. Thursday, September 2: the incidence value is rising again

Wednesday September 1st: incidence continues to decline
On Wednesday morning, the RKI reported a further decrease in the incidence value for the cathedral city of 143.4. 219 new infections were registered, meaning that a total of 59,794 people have been infected with the virus in Cologne since the beginning of the pandemic. Another person died of or with Covid-19. The number of deaths increases to 733.
Tuesday, August 31: the incidence value drops significantly
In Cologne, the incidence has fallen significantly compared to the previous day. On Tuesday morning, the Robert Koch Institute for Cologne reported a value of 149.3. In addition, there were 91 registered new infections (total: 59,575). No other deaths related to Covid-19 have been reported.
Monday, August 30th: Incidence leaps up again
In Cologne, the incidence has risen significantly again. On Monday morning it was 162.1, according to the Robert Koch Institute. Within one day, 263 people in the cathedral city tested positive for the corona virus. So far, a total of 59,484 people have been infected. 732 Cologne residents died with or from the virus.
Sunday, August 29: incidence almost unchanged at 154
The seven-day incidence in Cologne did not decrease on Sunday either. Although the value rose by only 0.3 points to 154.3 compared to the previous day, it remains at a high level.
296 new corona cases were reported within one day. The total number of demonstrably infected rose to 59,221. No other deaths were reported.
Carnival fans get vaccinated against Corona
Jecke vaccination campaign in Cologne: 185 carnival fans were vaccinated against Corona on Saturday at the Heumarkt in Cologne’s old town. The Cologne Carnival Festival Committee and the city jointly called for the “big Fastelovends vaccination”.
With the action, as many people as possible should be animated to vaccinate before the new session starts.
Saturday, August 28th: Incidence in Cologne climbs over 150 mark
The incidence in the city of Cologne has risen again. The Robert Koch Institute showed a value of 154 on Saturday morning. A week ago, the incidence was significantly lower at 111. 306 new infections were reported within one day.
