[연합시민의소리]On the occasion of World AIDS Day (December 1) and AIDS Prevention Week (December 1-7), Incheon Yeonsu-gu Health Center (Director Kim Yong-woon) conducted non-face-to-face publicity activities to strengthen AIDS prevention.
In this promotion, in a difficult situation due to the prolonged Corona 19, the route of infection of AIDS, the need for early checkups, and basic precautions for prevention were posted on the Yeonsu-gu Health Center website, and leaflets and promotional materials were distributed in a non-face-to-face manner.
The public health center provides information on anonymous AIDS tests on the display board of the public health center throughout the year, as well as banners, posters, and brochures at the entrance to provide continuous publicity and operates a consultation counter through the website.
On the other hand, AIDS refers to cases in which infectious diseases such as viral and bacterial diseases and tuberculosis appear as human immunodeficiency virus invades the body and lowers immunity.
Initially, common symptoms such as colds and body aches appear, so it is not possible to confirm infection by symptoms alone, and it is diagnosed through blood tests 12 weeks after suspected infection.
AIDS is not infected in daily life, but can be infected mainly by sexual contact, joint use of contaminated syringes, vertical infections that spread from pregnant women to the fetus, but can be prevented by using correct contraceptives and early examination.
A public health center official said, “AIDS is a chronic disease that allows people to live healthily with constant treatment, so social prejudice against infected people should be resolved, and early detection and early treatment through voluntary examinations are the most important.”
