BALIPORTALNEWS.COMDENPASAR – South Denpasar Health Center I, together with a larva monitor (Jumantik) carried out a Simultaneous Movement (Gertak) to Eradicate Mosquito Nests (PSN), as well as giving larvicide/abate to residents in the Sesetan, Panjer and Sidakarya areas on Wednesday (25/1/2023).
Jumantik regularly monitors and exterminates larvae in the South Denpasar Health Center I area, targeting residents’ homes that have water reservoirs, as well as places that have the potential to become mosquito breeding grounds. This monitoring is routinely carried out by monitoring 25 to 30 houses per day.
Head of UPTD Health Center I South Denpasar, dr. Ni Komang Wulan Putri Tjatera revealed that the monitoring and distribution of larvicide/abate to residents is currently being intensively carried out, given the current rainy season weather.
“There has been an increase in DB cases, due to the current rainy season, so we, from the South Denpasar Health Center I, are intensively carrying out activities to break the chain of mosquito development, and continuously educate the public to carry out the 3M+ movement,” he said.
Furthermore, he appealed to the public to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment, as an effort to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
“I urge especially the people who are in the South Denpasar area, to be active as an independent Jumantik, and carry out 3M plus activities such as draining/cleaning places used as water reservoirs, closing water storage containers and recycling items that might become mosquito breeding grounds. ,” he concluded.(bpn)
