Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the UN General Assembly on the afternoon of Friday 27/9, saying among other things that he did not intend to participate in the assembly this year, but after hearing the “lies and slander” unleashed against Israel decided to come and to “fix things”.
“My country is at war and fighting for its life. But after listening to the lies and slanders made about my country by many people on this stage, I decided to come here and put things right.” he said characteristically.
Referring to the hostages but also to “biblical destination” of Israel, Netanyahu issued threats against everything in the region, while addressing Iran he said “If you hit us, we’ll hit you. I have a message for the tyrants of Tehran: There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach.” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu also called for an end to “appeasement” of Iran. “Everything must be done to ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons,” he added.
He then presented two maps, one with the name “blessing”who points to Israel as an energy hub connecting Asia to the West, which he said “will benefit billions of people” and another named “curse”showing Israel’s neighboring countries in black, speaking of “axis of evil”, where will “dominate” if Israel loses, as he himself said.

“We win”the Israeli prime minister exclaimed at another point in his speech, while attacking Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority. Regarding the war in Gaza, he said that “it would be unthinkable” for Israel to allow Hamas to remain part of Gaza when the war is over.
Regarding the war in Lebanon, Netanyahu appeared adamant on his decision to escalate attacks, as he argued that “will not stop unless Hezbollah is dismantled.”
The Israeli prime minister targeted the UN itself, as well as the International Criminal Court (ICC), which he accused of anti-Semitism.

Israel insists on the ground attack against Lebanon
A potential ground operation by the Israeli army against Lebanon’s Islamist movement Hezbollah will be as “short” as possible, a senior Israeli security source said today.
“We will try to keep it as short as possible,” the official told reporters on condition of anonymity. “We are preparing for this every day and it is certain that this is one of the means” we have at our disposal, he added, referring to the possibility of a ground attack.
