“During the month, more than a thousand mammography studies were performed, which represents a 66% increase compared to the same period in 2023, and a 150% growth compared to the usual monthly average of Incan,” they stated from Public Health.
Pink October: due to high demand, not all orders were covered, they say
The Ministry of Health indicated that due to the very high demand for mammograms that occurred in October in Incan, not all requests for these studies could be covered.

“Despite the efforts, the high demand This made it impossible to attend to all the patients who required the study this month (October). The Incan apologizes and reaffirms his commitment to continue expanding access to these services. We encourage citizens to come at any time of the year to access the studies, available not only in October,” they highlighted from Incan.
Will there be extended hours for mammography at Incan?
From Novemberhe opening hours of mammograms in the Incan returns to its regular modeannounced from the Ministry of Health. In this way, starting this week the imaging study at the oncology hospital is carried out from Monday to Friday, 07:00 a 19:00prior scheduling.
From the age of 40, women can agree to have a mammogram without a prior doctor’s order.
To schedule an appointment it is necessary for the patient to approach the window of scheduling, of monday to friday, 07:00 a 12:00. As established Resolution 336 of the Ministry of Health, the women of 40 years they don’t need one medical order.
In the case of having family history of breast cancer, it is recommended to perform the aforementioned imaging study once a year, starting 35 years.
