INCAA Celebrates Argentine Films’ Participation in San Sebastián International Film Festival

The National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) celebrates the participation of audiovisual works of national production and co-production in the different sections of the 71st edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, which will take place in Spain between 22 and 30 of September.

To compete in the Official Section, La práctica (Argentina/Chile/Portugal – 2023 – 90 min), the new film by Martín Rejtman, and Puan, directed by María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat, were selected. In this section, feature films compete for the traditional Golden Shell award.

The recent premiere of Blondi (Argentina/Spain/USA – 2023 – 88 min), by Dolores Fonzi, and the film El castillo, by Martín Benchimol –winner in the Work in Progress section of the latest edition of the International Film Festival from San Sebastián– join the program to compete in the Horizontes Latinos category. This section programs unreleased feature films in Spain, produced in whole or in part in Latin America, directed by filmmakers of Latino origin or that have Latino communities in the rest of the world as their theme.

Finally, the Argentine-Spanish co-production La estrella azul (2023 – 127 min), by Javier Macipe, was chosen to participate in the New Directors section, where productions –first or second feature films– of international origin, unpublished and that have been produced will compete. in the last year.
