Player Manchester United, Wout Weghorst, again received criticism. The Dutch footballer is considered to lack quality.
Manchester United lost 0-2 to Newcastle United in the Premier League. In the match at St James Park, Sunday (2/4/2023), the Red Devils lost with a final score of 0-2. The Magpies goals were packaged by Joe Willock and Callum Wilson.
In Whoscored’s record, Wout Weghorst lacked a threat when MU against Newcastle. The 30-year-old player only fired 1 shot, and even then it didn’t hit the target.
Since strengthening MU starting in January 2023, Weghorst has been highlighted for his goal contribution. He has just scored two goals and he has assists.
MU legend, Gary Neville, thinks that Weghorst tried my best. However, the quality is indeed lacking to fill post number 9 in the Red Devils squad.
“He played his part. It’s a big deal. He doesn’t deserve criticism,” Neville said on Sportskeeda.
“I think he’s trying his best. He’s working as hard as he can, but he just lacks the quality of a player in that position that Manchester United should have,” he added.
Man United will compete again in the Premier League continuation, Thursday (6/4) in the morning WIB. Brentford will be hosted by Erik ten Hag’s team at Old Trafford. Can score goals Weghorst?
