Sirko Stanchev has made a huge contribution to the development and prosperity of Zlatograd.
He assisted in the construction of the tobacco cooperative “Jebel Basma”, the building of the Bulgarian Agricultural and Cooperative Bank, the city bath – the first public bath in the Rhodopes, and other buildings – community center, school, courthouse.
He also assisted in the retirement of the disgraced Vasilka Zmejkovic, the wife of educator Jacob Zmejkovic, who had been a teacher in the city for a long time.

On Friday, Nikola Minchev was elected chairman of the 47th National Assembly. The lawyer is only 34 years old – the youngest parliamentary chief in our history, but his family has a tradition in politics.
