According to investigators, the crime occurred on October 23 from 9 to 11 o’clock in the apartment where the former spouses and their four children aged 7 to 15 years lived. On Monday morning, after the children left for school, the couple decided to relax and drink beer. At some point, a quarrel broke out between a man and a woman due to jealousy on the part of her ex-husband.
In a fit of anger, the man hit her on the head at least four times with a hammer and on her body at least six times with a knife. After that he ran away. The murdered woman was discovered by her son when he returned from school. He called his older sister, who called an ambulance.
The suspect in the murder of his ex-wife was detained in the evening of the same day in the Gomel region. The Zhlobin district department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against a 38-year-old man.
