First Deputy Prime Minister of Yakutia Dmitry Sadovnikov said that 83 settlements fell under the shutdown. 17.5 thousand residential buildings were left without electricity, in which 78 251 people live, including 24.5 thousand children.

After the accident, diesel power plants were connected to the affected communities.

In the evening of December 19, the press service of the government of Yakutia wrotethat the accident was eliminated and the power supply was completely restored. The officials stressed that the power engineers worked in “extremely difficult conditions” – with poor visibility, thick snow and temperatures down to -50 ° C.
