The Chilean has won two battles so far, and is enjoying his time in Melbourne.“The feeling of having won is the best. I live to play these games and leave everything”, he affirmed after beating the Hispanic in five sets.
But his good performance in the first Grand Slam of the season is not only reflected in his confidence. It will also do so in the next update of the ATP ranking, where he currently ranks 19th.

The national has added 45 units so far, and thanks to the fact that he does not defend points, he will be able to climb at least three places to 16th place. If there were no surprises, it would be the best historical classification of his career.
But that is not all. The Chilean would surpass, among others, Roger Federer who is absent in Australia and will not be able to revalidate 720 points, which will cause his fall to position 29 on the ranks.
