In Volyn, a pensioner kept three men in labor slavery

Law enforcers freed three victims from slavery

After the men agreed to work for the pensioner, she took them to the utility rooms, took the documents and put them in the barn.

In the Volyn village of Verbaev, law enforcement officers detained a 60-year-old woman who held three men in slavery and mocked them. About this on Friday, August 20 reported the communication sector of the police of the Volyn region.

The police said that the woman found men who were in a vulnerable state in markets and at bus stations.

“She promised them a job caring for cattle and a salary. However, when the men came to the village, she took their documents from them and put them in the barn. When the men tried to escape, she threatened them with physical harm,” the police said.

The woman’s criminal activities became known in June.

The woman was declared suspicious under Part 2 of Art. 149 (Trafficking in Human Beings) and Part 1 of Art. 357 (Abduction, misappropriation, extortion of documents, stamps, seals, their seizure by fraud or abuse of office or damage to them) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case against the malefactor has already been sent to court. She faces 5 to 12 years in prison.

Recall that law enforcement officers of the Dnipropetrovsk region have brought a criminal case against a group of intruders to court, which drew people into labor slavery.
