Frankly we have never known that! The director of Ekidom Still can’t believe it and is racking its brains to find solutions. For several months the social landlord has had to adapt to a crisis in raw materials which has stagnated rehabilitations for lack of wood, when it is not quite simply prices which soar when the additional cost is multiplied by two or three. Stéphanie Bonnet, director of Ekidom, gives some very telling examples: “From 7 weeks of waiting for carpentry we have gone today to more than 16 weeks, it takes 20 weeks to get a patio door handle! We are squarely on the more 35% additional cost for the metal frame and without any indication on the delivery time! “
an additional cost of 170,000 euros
Ekidom is particularly strongly impacted in a major rehabilitation operation in Poitiers, in the Beaulieu district. 205 homes are concerned for contracts awarded at the end of last year with a start for this summer, but there are difficulties in the supply of wood in this operation of insulation from the outside. Result is an additional cost of 170,000 euros on the lot that poses a problem.
The Grand Poitiers public office now manages 12,500 housing units and allocates an average of 1,800 housing units each year.
