After being afraid of not being able to perform due to lack of transportation, singer Wilfred LeBouthillier finally made a remarkable entrance on Monday evening at the last Star Académie show at the International Montgolfières in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The artist, who was desperately looking for a private plane Monday night in Moncton after his flight to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu was cancelled, finally found a good Samaritan who transported him to his show.

The “magical” moment Wilfred LeBouthillier landed at the International Balloon Festival was caught on camera and it’s movie-worthy.

“Oh my God! There’s a plane that just landed,” Math Duff said on stage. “That’s him! Ladies and gentlemen, Wilfred LeBouthillier has landed,” he said in a video posted by the organization on Facebook.

The singer finally went on stage with the first cohort of Star Académie 2003 academies to sing And it’s not over.

Wilfred also filmed his landing when he arrived in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. “Mission accomplished, thank you everyone,” he said in a Facebook post a few hours later.

At his wit’s end, the winner of the 2003 edition of Star Académie asked for help from the public on his Facebook page on Monday evening.

“Last minute emergency. If by some miracle you know someone who has a helicopter or a private plane that can go from Moncton to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, my flight was cancelled and it’s the last Star Académie show at the hot air balloon festival tonight,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

The power of social media finally allowed him to fly to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and deliver an “incredible” show, he said.

Several admirers have also praised his dedication and all the efforts he made to get to the show on time.
