The Argentinian media Mendoza Post published on its X account the video surveillance images of the elevator of the Diplomatico hotel in Mendoza, where the facts of “aggravated gang rape” allegedly took place. The alleged victim meets, among others, the assistant coach of the XV of France, Patrick Arlettaz.
These are the first video images of the complainant who accuses Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou of having raped her in a room at the Diplomatico hotel in Mendoza where the French XV were staying during their tour of Argentina last July.
It was the Argentinian media Mendoza Post that revealed them on its X account. An extract of just over a minute of video surveillance of the elevator where we see the complainant, her face blurred, going up from the 6th floor, that of the players’ room, to go down to the hotel lobby.
It is 8:43 and 45 seconds this Sunday, July 6, just after the alleged events, and we see the 39-year-old woman fixing her hair without any sign of particular agitation. The alleged victim meets several guests of the hotel, including the assistant coach of the French XV, Patrick Arlettaz.
During the 25 seconds that this unexpected cohabitation lasts, they do not exchange a word. The complainant does not address the other people seen in this video either.
Patrick Arlettaz n’a “saw nothing strange” in the complainant’s behavior
During his recent hearing by the Argentine justice system, Patrick Arlettaz declared that he had not “saw nothing strange” in the complainant’s behavior in this short period of time. This elevator video was studied by the Argentine justice system, one element among others that justified their decision to end the preventive detention of Jegou and Auradou on the grounds that the “sufficient evidence has not been gathered” to extend it.
The testimony of the taxi driver, who had picked him up at the hotel exit, also weighed, since he had affirmed, according to the revelations of the Argentinian media MDZ Online, that the journey had taken place in a “normal” and that he had not perceived “no indication of violence” on the alleged victim. A testimony that had been described as «crucial» by the defense.
The lawyers for the French players announced to several French media outlets this Sunday their intention to request a dismissal of the case in court at the beginning of next week.
