Hong Kong director Anna Hui received the prestigious award for a lifetime contribution to cinema at the Venice International Film Festival. The event is also intended to show the artist’s latest achievement – the tape “Love After Love” or “Love After Love”.
In her address after receiving the award, the director stated that she wanted to return the award to her homeland – the city where she grew up and lived all her life. It has given her an education and a scholarship to study in the British capital, London, as well as life experience and the opportunity for self-realization. She also promised to return to Hong Kong and help the young filmmakers.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Venice Film Festival informed that the director’s new film is being shown outside the official screening of the competition. It tells the story of a young girl from the city of Shanghai in the People’s Republic of China who is going to Hong Kong to get an education. To pay for her studies, she starts working for her aunt, who makes money from influential and rich men.
