Last night in the city of Valmiera, the police noticed a BMW brand car, the driver of which in the city significantly exceeds the allowed driving speed. The driver disobeyed the lawful demands of the police to stop and fled. Losing control of his vehicle, the driver, who was sitting at the wheel under the influence of 2.14 miles, crashed – drove off the roadway and entered the building wall, damaging it.
On the night of November 19 in the city of Valmiera, traffic controllers of the Patrol Police Division of the Vidzeme Region Bureau of the State Police, in the performance of their duties, captured a BMW car, the driver of which participated in road traffic at a speed of 110 km / h, where the permitted speed is 50 km / h.
The police decided to stop the driver, but the driver did not obey the lawful demands of the police to stop and fled. Continuing to flee, the driver of the BMW did not cope with driving the car, ran onto the curb, as a result of which he drove off the roadway and collided with the building, damaging it. Fortunately, neither the driver himself nor other road users have suffered as a result of the irresponsible driver’s actions.
During the breath alcohol test, it was found that the man was behind the wheel under the influence of 2.14 per cent. It should be noted that the man, born in 1998, has previously come to the attention of the police for non-compliance with traffic rules.
Several administrative violation proceedings have been initiated by the police – for non-compliance with a repeated or repeated request to stop the vehicle, as well as for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
The police recall that driving under the influence of alcohol poses a significant threat to the health and lives of oneself and other road users. The attached video shows how life-threatening drunk driving can be. In this case, the man survived without serious injuries, but such a traffic accident can also end in tragic consequences.
