In Uzbekistan, 18 children died after taking an Indian syrup used in ARVI

In Uzbekistan, 18 children have died after taking a syrup that reduces SARS symptoms. This is reported RENTV with reference to the Ministry of Health of the Republic.

A total of 21 children were admitted to hospitals, all patients diagnosed with acute renal failure.

Experts believe that the probable cause of death is the drug Doc-1 Max, produced by the Indian company Marion Biotech. Ethylene glycol was found in the syrup – a toxic substance on the basis of which windshield washer fluid is made.

“It has been established that deceased children, before hospitalization, took this drug at home for two to seven days, three to four times a day, 2.5-5 ml each, which exceeds the standard dose of the drug for children,” the state of emergency commented to the Ministry of Health.

After the audit, seven employees were fired from the department.
