A generous donor tipped $ 16,000 to a restaurant after consuming two hot dogs and a few drinks. The sum was shared among all the employees of the establishment.
At the Stumble Inn Bar and Grill, Londonderry, a small town in the state of New Hampshire (United States), this June 12 will be a milestone: the waitress of this restaurant establishment received a tip of some 16,000 dollars (approximately 13,000 euros, editor’s note).
The story is told by The New York Post. The newspaper explains that this tip comes from a customer who consumed only two hot dogs and drinks, an order of about forty dollars. And this surprising gesture: this one adds several thousand dollars of tip to its payment, carried out by bank card.
The owner of the establishment also took a photo of the receipt, he couldn’t believe it.
“They work very hard”
The latter had also hastened to the customer to see with him whether it was not a mistake. The latter, who preferred to remain anonymous, told him that he actually wanted to pay this sum: “He just said that the employees deserved it, because they work very hard”, relates Mike Zarella, the owner of the restaurant. The restaurant had to close for two months because of the health crisis.
The sum took a little time to arrive in the establishment’s bank account. “I did not believe it, until the bank warned me that the money had indeed been transferred a few days later, explains the person in charge on Fox News. It’s incredible. I never thought someone could do that here. ”The money was eventually shared among the restaurant’s 30 employees.
