In the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, the property of enterprises supplying fabrics worth more than UAH 1.37 billion ($37.3 million) was arrested. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the property through a group of companies is owned by a citizen of the Russian Federation, whose name is not specified.
The companies owned by him also fulfill “Russian state contracts for the supply of military clothing and equipment for the Russian army and its law enforcement agencies,” the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reports. According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, enterprises bought fibers in Belarus, and also supplied fabrics to Russian and Belarusian organizations and enterprises.
Part of the profits were transferred by their owner to Russian accounts and used to organize the activities of a group of companies, thereby financing actions aimed at trying to change the borders of Ukraine (part 3 of article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
