Moratorium on disconnecting debtors from utilities lifted

To restore the supply of utilities, you will have to pay off the debt and pay for the reconnection service.

In Ukraine, the restrictions on disconnecting the population for arrears in the payment of utility bills have been officially lifted. The law was signed into law by President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 19 and entered into force the next day. This is reported by the edition ExPro.

Previously, the ban was introduced for the period of the quarantine. Now suppliers have the right to disconnect debtors 30 days after the region leaves the “red” quarantine zone.

Thus, utilities will be able to disconnect indebted Ukrainians from gas, electricity and other utilities.

To restore the supply of utilities, consumers will not only have to pay off the debt, but also pay for the reconnection service.

We remind the people of Kiev heating bills started to arrive in August… Such payments are recommended and are not subject to mandatory payment.

Meanwhile in Ukraine utility rates increased by 35%. The arrears of the population in payment for housing and communal services at the end of June amounted to 66.4 billion hryvnia.
