The air raid alert in most areas was announced after 13:15. Residents of the eastern, central, part of the northern and southern regions were warned about the threat from the air.
The head of the Kharkov garrison, Sergei Melnik, warned of the activity of enemy aircraft.
“In the area of Engels, the activity of the enemy Tu-160 was noticed. Follow the air raid reports,” he said.
In addition, monitoring groups report on the take-off of the Tu-95 in Russia and the likely launches of missiles.
Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak urged Ukrainians not to ignore the alarms. Also, the head of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Council Nikolai Lukashuk warned about the danger.
At the same time, MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Igor Kopytin announced the launch of cruise missiles.
“There is preliminary information about the launch of cruise missiles at 13:16 by Russian strategic bombers that took off from the Engels airfield,” he said.
