The Turkish authorities responded positively to the issue that arose with a Greek prisoner of the country’s prisons, to attend the funeral of his son who lost his life in the tragic train accident in Tempi.
The General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy of the Ministry of Citizen Protection sent all the necessary documents to the Turkish authorities for the transfer to Greece of the prisoner in Turkish prisons, Dimitris Nalbantis, father of the train driver Nikos Nalbantis, who lost his life in the fatal train accident in Tempi, in order to attend his son’s funeral.
Earlier, the Minister of Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, in a new communication with the Turkish Minister of the Interior, Suleiman Soylou, was informed about the positive response of the Turkish authorities to the Greek extradition request. For his part, the Greek minister expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the case and the immediate response of the Turkish authorities to this humanitarian request.
