In Turkey, Covid vaccines were mistakenly given to babies under 1 year of age.

The Turkish Ministry of Health has launched an investigation into allegations by a Turkish doctor of mistakenly administered Covid-19 vaccines to babies in Turkey, Turkish television NTV reported.

Prof. Dr. Zafer Kurugol of the Medical Faculty of the Aegean University in Izmir told television that doctors had inadvertently vaccinated children under the age of one against the coronavirus.

According to him, there have been cases in which babies have been mistakenly vaccinated against Covid-19 instead of hepatitis B vaccines.

At the same time, Kurugyol said that no side effects were observed in the vaccinated babies.

To date, more than 106 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Turkey. 53 million people received the first dose of the vaccine.
