After a trip from the Hitachi Rail production plant in Naples, the first of 30 new trams financed with the resources of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility as part of the so-called “iron care”, designed to enhance transport, arrived in Turin. by rail in large urban centers.
The style and interior design of the new Turin trams have been handled by Giugiaro Architettura: the livery will be characterized by the yellow-blue colors of the city, in continuity with the coloring of the new GTT buses. Equipped with a lowered floor and shorter than the current trams, thanks to a better layout of the interior spaces they will have a greater passenger transport capacity than the current trams.
The air conditioning system of the cars ensures the exchange of air with the outside, guaranteeing high safety standards for the health of passengers. The cars will be more comfortable: the large windows and the transparent side areas of the roof will offer great interior brightness and greater visibility to the outside.
