WASHINGTON. In the aftermath of the assignment of the presidency to Joe Biden the White House finds itself divided. There is the conciliatory faction, made up of Donald Trump’s close family members, prudent advisers and those in the odor of defection to recycle themselves into the Grand Old Party’s current. And there is the one on the warpath of the hawks and diehards, determined to go all the way in the legal battle by denouncing fraud in flurry. The evidence of which, well-informed sources explain, are already in the hands of the legal team set up by the president in office and among whose prominent names is that of Rudy Giuliani, his trusted lawyer. A team in which strategic grafts would have been made with respect to the lawyers who had recruited Jared Kushner but who, the sources explain, would not have shown up to the time of need.
The strategy has already been developed, namely to present evidence and proceed to new counting of votes, lawsuits in the courts and the possible appeal to the Supreme Court. With the aim of indefinitely postponing the deadline for operations, which should end on 8 December to give the electors the possibility of appointing the president on 14 December when the college meets. The ultimate goal is to create paralysis and prevent states from certifying Biden’s victory before that date. If this happens, the House would appoint the new Commander in Chief, not on the basis of the majority of the seats (which belongs to the Democrats), but on the basis of the vote of the state delegations, where the Republicans are in the majority with 26 representatives on 50 having multiple states colored red. A procedure that must see everyone agree in the team of the Grand Old Party and it is not certain that the Gop members are willing to subvert the result that emerged from the polls. Among them are also those who are lobbying the president to accept defeat and grant victory to his rival. Leading them is Kushner himself and his wife Ivanka, but also the first lady Melania Trump, according to CNN: “She has given her opinion, as she often does”. Melania herself, however, on Twitter used words of a very different orientation: «Americans deserve fair elections. Any legal, not illegal, vote must be counted. We must protect our democracy with complete transparency ».
Trump, who yesterday went to play golf in Virginia again, has no intention of backing off an inch, on the contrary, he adds to the allegations of irregularities in the vote. “We have a tradition of electoral problems in this country,” tweeted, quoting Jonathan Turley, a legal analyst and criminal lawyer. “In Pennsylvania there is a Supreme Court order for the separation” of the votes received after Election Day. “It is a large number of ballots – continues Trump -. When we talk about system problems we talk about how the cards are authenticated, if there is an authentication problem it could have an effect on the entire elections ». And he continues: «We believe that these lostthey are thieves. This was a stolen election. The best British pollsters have written that this is a stolen election, that it is impossible that Biden has overtaken Obama in some states ».
Among the rain of accusations there is also the one according to which the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, would have pocketed bribes on matches of anti-Covid medical material: “If it were true – some Republicans say – it is easy that he used corruption schemes also on the vote “. Finally, digging into Biden’s past, a letter of his sent to Marshal Tito on March 1, 1979 emerged in which, former senator, he thanked the Yugoslav dictator for the “pleasant exchange of views” he had during a visit to the Balkan country on the occasion of the death of the ideologist Edvard Kardelj. “A proof – say the Trumpists – of how Biden was and will be inclined to the drift of the more radical left”.
