The most recent cases are reported by Vysočina. Since Saturday, they have been fighting coronavirus infection, for example, in a home for the elderly in Třebíč. One of the social workers became infected with coronavirus, and everyone who came in contact with it will now have to go for tests. During the weekend, all employees and clients who have any symptoms of the disease will undergo tests.
In the facility, where they have 64 clients, they immediately took strict hygiene measures. “We consult all procedures with the hygiene station, we have adopted stricter hygiene measures, we have set aside an isolation room,” calculates Helena Chalupová, the director of the home.
Day by day, the situation is also deteriorating in the Humpolec home for the elderly. There, the infection was already in full swing. Instead of Friday’s 18, on Saturday there were at least 25 infected in the facility – 14 clients and 11 nurses. Neither does it, but it doesn’t have to be a final number yet. “Currently, further investigations and further sampling are underway, so we will have a complete picture on Monday,” says Jiří Kos from the Regional Hygiene Station.
Just with the operation of the facility, however, they are starting to have huge problems at home due to the lack of healthy caregivers. Therefore, the management wants to contact the Vysočina region during the weekend about help – whether from firefighters or the army. They are also looking for volunteers with the help of advertisements – they offer them up to three thousand crowns for a shift.
