In Tizimín they join forces against breast cancer. – Yucatan now

With a caravan led by the municipal president, Pedro Couoh, by the president of the DIF, Gabriela Mezquita Alonzo and to which 50 companies joined, the city of Tizimín lit up pink, as a sign of solidarity and awareness in the fight against cancer as a mother

The caravan started from the ground floor of the municipal building, to visit the streets where the companies that have joined this campaign are located and lit up in pink, before the authorities signed an agreement between the city council and the Fundación Tócate México.

In a message from the president of the DIF, Gabriela Mezquita Alonzo, stressed that breast cancer is the leading cause of hospital morbidity due to malignant tumors and with 25% of hospital admissions aged 20 years, these figures and the Its rapid growth has resulted in various organizations and people around the world coming together to promote cancer awareness and prioritize public health.

In his speech, Mayor Pedro Couoh said that this important task, the responsibility of taking care of health, is a task that corresponds to the federal and state governments, “but since we have the task of taking care of Tizimileños, of the hand we do it. with the health center, the San Carlos hospital and with the agreements we are also realizing it, this is one of them, this time with the signing of an agreement with the Tócate Foundation, we have been working for three years and I am sure it will result in more and better life chances for women and men who may be affected by this disease, ”he explained.

From the president of the Fundación Tócate México, Alejandra Gutiérrez, he indicated that the signing of the agreement that was carried out is precisely so that together the municipal authorities and the foundation can save lives, he added that there were few municipalities where it is this alliance has been made, awareness-raising talks will be held in the most marginalized communities, treatment will be taken in case someone has the disease to be treated for free, he reiterated his gratitude to the companies that have come together to light up pink.
