In Thionville, 350 free places near the station

From this Monday, August 1, two new parking spaces are available close to Thionville station.

Here are at least 350 good reasons to delight travelers taking the train in Thionville and needing to park their vehicle before arriving at the station: 350 free parking spaces are now accessible a few meters from the railway tracks.

The good alternative

Since the early hours of this Monday 1is August, motorists can therefore park more easily near the station. A boon especially for cross-border commuters traveling to Luxembourg every day from Thionville.

Located path of the bathsthe parking area is divided into two separate sites : the first, belonging to the municipality, runs along the Moselle and the second, owned by SNCF Réseau, is located just after the Effia car park. No loss of time therefore once parked to quickly reach your dock!

Waiting for the parking silo

At a time when many cross-border workers are wasting considerable time in traffic jams on the congested A31 motorway, these 350 new spaces are good news that could encourage them to prefer the train to the car for daily trips.

Remember, however, that these car parks remain temporary, waiting for the arrival of a vast parking silo with some 700 seats. Work on the building should begin next fall.
