Al-Marsad Newspaper: Nayef al-Maqrishi, the brother of young Omani woman, Ibtisam al-Maqrishi, who was stabbed to death last Sunday night, denied rumors that the reason for her killing was her refusal to marry the author.
Nayef al-Maqrishi said in an interview with Omani radio station “Hala FM” on Tuesday that “one of the rumors that spread immediately after his sister’s murder was that it was a case of marriage, and that it was caused by the refusal to marry the offender”, stressing that “these hadiths are not true”.
The Omani youth revealed the circumstances of the killing of his 32-year-old sister, saying: “He sent her a message, before learning of the incident, via the WhatsApp application to check on her, but she did not respond” .
He added that “a short time later, he received a call from a person telling him that his sister had been in a car accident, had been taken to the hospital and her injuries were minor.”
He explained that “he and his other brother went to the hospital where his sister arrived, and her condition was critical, and she was admitted to intensive care and emergency room, but they informed them minutes later that she was dead.” .
Nayef continued, “His sister was killed deliberately, not just an accident,” noting that “there were several shots to her body.”
