Al-Marsad Newspaper: Neurologists, Dr. Saeed Al-Qaneh, revealed the causes and symptoms of stroke.
Al-Qaneh said during his appearance in the “Sayidaty” program, that a stroke occurs when a sudden blockage of a major brain artery, or when an artery within the brain bursts due to high blood pressure.
The neuroscientist added that the older a person, the greater the chance of having a stroke, as do high-pressure patients, diabetic patients and patients with kidneys.
He added that smoking is a major factor in heart disease and stroke, as well as lack of exercise, alcohol consumption and drug abuse.
He added that the stroke occurs suddenly and the symptoms can be noticed by the patient who does not understand the words of those around him, aside from the changes that occur on the patient’s face.
