In the US they said that the repackaging of FitGirl is causing serious damage to the game industry

The Entertainment Software Association of America (ESA), which represents companies such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Ubisoft, recently. renew your own “blacklist” of pirate sites. And new names appeared there.

This time the famous FitGirl-Repacks were blacklisted. This site, known to many gamers, specializes in compressed versions of games. For those who don’t know, FitGirl gives them games and “packs” so they take up less space. Convenient, right? But copyright holders don’t think so.

According to the ESA, FitGirl-Repacks was visited 22 million times in July of this year. No wonder game companies are worried. They complain that the site ignores requests to remove pirated content. However, it was still not possible to find out who is behind FitGirl.

But FitGirl isn’t the only headache for ESAs. The list also included the Dodi-Repacks website. It’s younger and smaller, but it also managed to upset gaming companies. The ESA notes that Dodi will also not respond to requests to remove illegal content.

In addition, the ESA drew attention to sites selling cheats and unauthorized game accounts. For example, cosmocheats.com and eldorado.gg were blacklisted. Although they are not as big as FitGirl, gaming companies consider them to be a big threat.

What happens now? ESA hopes that the US government will take their complaints into account when formulating copyright policies. Well, for now we can just watch this struggle.
