Jerrod Ramos pleaded guilty to 23 counts, but said he could not be held responsible for the crime.
In the United States, the Maryland court on Tuesday, September 28, sentenced Jerrod Ramos, who in 2018 shot five employees of the local newspaper Capital Gazette. The man was sentenced to six life sentences, informed CBS TV channel.
“The defendant was sentenced to five life terms without the right to parole, and also received another life sentence and 345 years in prison,” the material says.
The media recalled that in July this year, Ramos pleaded guilty to 23 counts, but said he could not be held responsible for the crime. The jury disagreed with him.
As a reminder, on June 28, 2018, the defendant burst into the editorial office Capital Gazette in Annapolis and shot five people. Prior to that, Ramos sent threats to journalists for several years in connection with materials about his criminal past.
He also filed a lawsuit against the media many times.
