In the United States, a man filmed beating his dog receives 25 years in prison

Frank Javier Fonseca, a resident of Texas in the USA, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after beating his dog, with video evidence.

In San Antonio, a city in Texas, the court was not lenient and did not hesitate to condemn heavily this 56-year-old man who, in February 2019, had been filmed beating his Rottweiler.

Video of the attack was taken by an unknown man who was passing by and spotted the man violently beating his dog, kicking, punching and using a knife. wooden stick. His excuse in court: his dog had escaped from the yard and he wanted to discipline him.

Few states (in the US or elsewhere) would sentence a man (or woman) to 25 years in prison for cruelty to animals. If this penalty may seem extreme to some, it is however justified according to the city of San Antonio. Indeed, authorities said, according to San Antonio Express News, that Fonesca’s prior convictions for the same and other offenses (drug possession and retaliatory crimes) make the sentence measured.

All’s well that ends well for Buddy who has recovered from his injuries and found a new family to take him in and take care of him.
