The wives and mothers of deceased SVO participants from the Samara region and other regions are receiving free education remotely at one of the Russian universities. Preparations for participation in this pilot project showed that many relatives of fighters want to learn. This issue is currently being addressed by a working group of the regional Public Chamber.
The round table brought together representatives from the fields of education and volunteerism, the Russian Orthodox Church and the regional center for social assistance to families and children. There is a difficult topic on the agenda – how to help the wives and mothers of deceased SVO participants regain support in life. For example, by involving them in social and patriotic projects.
Another effective way is to provide the opportunity to obtain a first higher education or new professional skills. Such a project is already being implemented. For 7 months, mothers and spouses of fighters will study general psychology online.
Now it’s time to tackle the issue of organizing a similar educational project in the Samara region. There was also a proposal to work with teachers and school psychologists on ways to support the children of SVO participants; “Volunteers of Victory” are ready to involve them in mass public events.
