A sudden check of combat readiness is underway in the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation

In the Eastern Military District (VVO) of Russia, a sudden check of combat readiness is underway. This was announced on Friday, January 14, in the Russian military department, reports TASS.

It is noted that the verification is carried out in preparation for the strategic command and staff exercises Vostok-2022.

“The planned activities of the winter period of training of troops are continuing in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As part of preparations for the strategic command and staff exercise Vostok-2022, a sudden check of combat readiness is being carried out in the troops of the Eastern Military District,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that “in the designated areas, the units of the Eastern Military District will have to work out a wide range of tasks for organizing comprehensive support and perform control and test exercises in combat training subjects with tactical exercises and live firing at remote firing ranges.”

Particular attention within the framework of the combat readiness check in the Eastern Military District will be given to the possibility of transporting troops on time.

Before that, it was reported that in the Western Military District of the Russian Federation launched large-scale military exercises in the Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk and Smolensk regions.

The media also wrote that Russia moves troops to the West. Trucks, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, Grad and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems were seen on the railway platforms.
