Jeffrey-Way Hard Rock Twigs was Grand Champion of the Holstein Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2024, which, in 2024, won its second most important dairy show championship in North America, since at the beginning of October it had been the Grand Champion at the World Dairy Expo in Madison (USA).
It is a black cow of enormous size. “She has an incredible ribcage, a great opening and flatness in the bones and has a wide front along her entire length,” said Jeff Stephens, who gave the reasons for the Royal Supreme Grand Champion, on behalf of the four judges of dairy competitions at the Royal.
The Jeffrey-Way Hard Rock Twigs cow is owned by a cross-border group that includes K. Doeberiener, Lindsay Bowen and Pat Conroy in the United States and R&F Livestock Inc. and Walker Dairy Inc. in Canada.
A subscriber to this exhibition from Canada is the Argentine Horacio Larrea (in the photo below, on the left) who was at the Royal with Raúl Beltramino, producer of Eusebia, Santa Fe (in the center) and Roberto issolio (right) , breeder and producer from Oliva, Córdoba. “I am celebrating 40 years since my first visit to the Royal Winter Fair, and I came with my dear friend Roberto Issolio and this time we added a luxury companion such as another dear friend Raúl Beltramino.”
The reserved Grand Champion was a daughter of Crush who was also Champion 5 Year Old Cow.
