In the Rizieq Shihab Session, Experts Call It Very Dangerous Patients Are Still Positive Covid-19 Out of the Hospital.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com Epidemiologist Universitas Indonesia Tri Yunis Miko Wahyono stated that it would be dangerous if a patient was reactive Covid-19 discharged from the hospital before testing negative for Covid-19.

This was conveyed by Miko when he was an expert witness in the trial of the Ummi Hospital swab test case with the defendant Rizieq Shihab at the East Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (5/5/2021).

The sentence came out of Miko’s mouth in response to the public prosecutor (JPU) who asked about the impact if a Covid-19 reactive patient escapes from the hospital.

“If there is a patient who is suspected of being reactive with Covid-19 and is still under sudden treatment, the relevant result is not yet available, the person is fleeing from hospital care, will it lead to problems in terms of epidemiology or not?” asked the prosecutor.

Miko explained, a patient who has not been tested negative for Covid-19 should not be in contact with other people to prevent Covid-19 transmission.

He said, if the patient decides to leave the hospital, the potential for transmission will arise because the patient can make contact with other people.

“If he gets out of the hospital, he contacts, it means he will infect other people,” he said.
