Activists on social media circulated a picture of one of the “chewing gum” products in Lebanon, as its price reached an imaginary number.
In the picture, it appeared that the price of “gum” amounted to 413,999 Lebanese pounds.
Immediately after the spread of the image, the pioneers of social communication were divided between rejecting the high prices and understanding them.
Some commented that the price of “gum” has become almost equal to the price of half a kilo of meat. While others saw that the price is normal compared to the actual value of the product, which is originally about three dollars.
Among the sarcastic comments, according to “Lebanon 24”, one of the social media pioneers said: “I want to torture you with half a kilo of Mentos, shish tawook cut.”
