In the middle of Berlin: violent intersection crash after car theft | Regional

Berlin – Severe crash in Berlin-Kreuzberg! On Friday evening there was a collision between a taxi, an Opel and a motorcycle. Three people were injured. The incident is now becoming a tricky investigation for the criminal police.

The accident occurred at around 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of Oranienstrasse and Adalbertstrasse. The fire brigade and even a rescue helicopter crew were called to the scene. What exactly happened is still unclear.

This is what witnesses report

Witnesses on site told BILD that there had been turbulent scenes in the Opel beforehand. When the driver was stopped at a red light on Oranienstraße, a man suddenly got into the back of the car. When the light turned green again and the driver wanted to drive off, two women suddenly tried to get into the car. One of them managed it, the other fell out.

A motorcycle was also involved in the accident: the biker was seriously injured and was taken to hospital

The alleged thief then tried to throw the driver out of his car and climbed into the front seats. But the driver fought back and lost control of the car because of the struggle. The police did not confirm this account.

Opel stolen before the accident

The fact is: At the Adalbertstrasse intersection – according to police reports – there was a collision between a motorcyclist and a Toyota. The 29-year-old biker was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. The 32-year-old Opel driver and the 64-year-old Toyota driver also had to be treated in hospital for head injuries.

As the police reported on Saturday, their colleagues discovered during the accident investigation that the 32-year-old was driving a stolen Opel and did not have a valid driver’s license.
