Residents of the village of Olgovka in the Kursk Region (RF) recorded a video address to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. In it, they spoke of the problems they faced after being evacuated from their hometown and urged him to “end this murderous war”.
According to the people, since August 6 – the beginning of active fighting in the border area – their lives are divided into “before and after”. Now the city looks like a horror movie, and they themselves have become homeless, UNIAN reported.
“Some of our fellow residents died, others are missing because evacuation was not announced and not everyone managed to leave. Some stayed because they thought it would only last two or three days,” said the address.
The villagers have lost everything and must now start their lives. Housing rent is not affordable for them, it is difficult for them to find work, and many of them have already run out of government benefits. According to the authorities, it will take five years to rebuild the town, but many people are afraid to return.
“We have been living in hell for three months now. Where can we turn, where can we find salvation? We ask you to stop this damn war that has claimed so many innocent lives. We want our children to see peaceful skies, without hearing missile warning sirens. Understand this situation and listen to the residents of the border area. We will not accept all this by our own will,” said residents of the Kursk region.
As reported by UNIAN, residents of the Kursk region complain that Russian soldiers are raiding. Many of the victims are afraid to report that they have been victims of assaults.
In addition, it was noted that the platoon commander of the 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Turlai, nicknamed “Rudolf”, answered the question of what would make the VSU left the Kursk region. According to him, this could happen if they had to protect the banks of the Dnieper from Russian residents.
