Health workers are not paid their salaries for three months. The debt on payments is almost six million hryvnia.
In the city of Valki in the Bogodukhovsky district of the Kharkov region, medical workers blocked the international highway Kiev – Kharkov – Dovzhansky. They demand wage payments, writes Public.
The paramedics blocked the track for one hour. The movement of vehicles at this time was not carried out, except for the passage of special vehicles.
About 150 people took part in the protest action. They held posters in their hands: Let’s save the Valkovskaya hospital, Reduction of doctors – no !, Decent salaries for doctors.
Also, people walked along the pedestrian crossing, chanting: Salary, Leave jobs.
The protesters spoke out not only for the payment of wage arrears, but also for a change in the management of the medical institution.
Hospital director Bogdan Nosatov confirmed that the money would be paid next week. He also said that the hospital will not close, but that staff will be cut by 50%.
“No one will close the hospital, but in order to meet the available funding, it will be necessary to reduce staffing … This is wrong, stupid, but, unfortunately, this is the situation,” Nosatov explained.
There are no salary payments in Valkovsky hospital for almost three months. The debt is 5.8 million hryvnia.
