The proposal consists of dancing and a chocolate snack with churros, although Olga and her friends like to dance. “We were already coming last year and it seems very good to us, but we have to encourage people to come, I have put it in all the groups but they usually come late, you’ll see how things brighten up in a while,” one told us. of the participants as she made her way to the dance floor. The snack was left for later.

Azucena, however, had started with the churros and the chocolate, which, given how cold the afternoon was, went very well. “My husband doesn’t dance so I’m left wanting,” she pointed out while she smiled at us and drained her hot glass.

Serving the snack were several representatives of the Municipal Corporation, with the mayor, Jesús Manuel Sánchez Cabrera, at the head, and members of the Pronisa Special Employment Center, the entity that had been entrusted with the mission of preparing some 500 rations for the elders of the city. With this, the Consistory added to the social objective that of collaboration with an association that works for the labor insertion of people with disabilities so that “everything remains in Ávila”, pointed out the mayor. The group hired to liven up the afternoon was Dos Soles from Avila, who offered varied music that was very well received by the public.

“The fact that we are here also allows us to listen to the participants and see what they want, and what they have been asking us for is this, an entertaining activity for Sundays and in winter under cover,” stressed Sánchez Cabrera, who highlighted That is precisely why they had decided to resume the activity.

The San Antonio Municipal Sports Center returns, in this way, to host the activities of this initiative that will initially take place on the first and third Sunday of each month. Music will continue to be the main protagonist and surprises are also announced in the form of gastronomic tastings for the third Sunday of each month.

The Pronisa Special Employment Center also expressed their satisfaction at being able to collaborate with the City Council on the initiative, something that they hope can be repeated. Four users of the center prepared around half a thousand portions of churros with chocolate and traveled to San Antonio to serve them. “That is what it is about, that they integrate into the world of work and become independent,” the entity highlighted.
