The performance “State of Grandmothers” has been shown only six times so far – in Valmiera, Kuldiga, Liepaja, Rezekne, Daugavpils and Cesis, at the conversation festival “Lamp”. In the cultural place “Hanzas perons” there will be the first opportunity to watch the production in Riga. In addition to the actors of the theater troupe “Kvadrifrons”, the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School girls’ choir “Vivace” will also take part in the performance.
In the semi-documentary show “Grandmother’s State”, the actors of “Quadrifron” reflect with their like-minded people about the problem of aging in Latvian and Western European society, looking at this topic not only in socio-political, but mainly in personal and intimate context through their grandmothers’ point of view. In the show, documentary interviews and their creative narratives alternate with songs, everyday dialogues and scenes played in the aesthetics of television programs, which are felt by both the actors and the children’s choir. All the artists involved in the show are united by a special and emotionally complicated relationship with their grandparents, especially their grandmothers.
The documentary “Grandmother’s State” in “Hansa Perona” will be shown twice on October 18 – at 15.00 and 19.00. Tickets for the show “Grandmother ‘s State” are available at “Biļešu paradīze” sales points and on the Internet.
On the other hand, for those who have purchased tickets to the “Pārmijas” performances planned for the spring at “Biļešu paradīze” sales points, the purchased tickets can be handed over at “Biļešu paradīze” box offices or exchanged for tickets to the “Grandmother’s State” show scheduled for October 18. As previously reported, within the series of performing arts events “Pārmija”, everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy high-quality works of art in the genre of theater, music, art or dance.
