STORY – Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens were the sites of theft and violence Monday night following protests.

It was exactly 8:28 p.m. Monday night on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan when small groups of young adults broke away from the body of the main protest. Until then peaceful and determined, the crowd chanted slogans heard all over America: “No justice, no peace”, “Say his name: George Floyd”, “Black lives matter”.
But as evening falls on the Big Apple, the mood changes abruptly: small isolated groups no longer speak, no longer sing. They have nothing to do with the protests, George Floyd, the anger of colored minorities or the BLM (Black Lives Matter) movement, born in 2014 in Ferguson, Missouri.
