In the future united with brother Franz: Moritz Wagner stays with Orlando Magic

Franz Wagner’s hopes have been fulfilled: Together with his older brother Moritz, the 19-year-old will play for Orlando Magic in the coming NBA season.

According to media reports, Moe Wagner and Orlando have agreed on a two-year contract. Previously, the Florida team had drawn Franz Wagner in eighth place in this year’s draft and given him a rookie contract.

His older brother Moritz landed with the Magic at the end of last season after the Boston Celtics broke up with him. Wagner had previously moved to Boston from the Washington Wizards. For Orlando he played eleven encounters, ten
of which as a starter, and averaged eleven points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

Before the talent draw, Franz had expressed the desire to play with his brother. “He’s a pain in the ass … sorry – playing against him is really hard,” he said
younger Wagner brother. Moritz was last in action at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

With the German national team, the native of Berlin reached the quarter-finals, which the team of national coach Henrik Rödl lost to Slovenia (70:94).
