The only case of influenza discovered this week was registered in the practice of family doctors in Riga for a person in the age group over 65 years. Outpatient visits for acute upper respiratory infections were also lower than usual in the first week of November, averaging 882.4 cases per 100,000 population, compared with 892.9 cases per 100,000 population in the last week of October a week earlier. population.

In the first week of November, 18 patients or 19.6 cases per 100,000 population applied to medical institutions for pneumonia. The SPKC explains that the turnout for pneumonia was also lower than in previous seasons during the relevant period.

Due to national restrictions on the spread of Covid-19, on-site attendance at educational institutions remains low. The SPKC report shows that in the first week of November it was 64.9%, while in the last week of October 65.5% of students attended school.

Meanwhile, 75.5% of registered children attended pre-school education institutions in the first week of November.

Influenza activity in the WHO European Region remained inter-seasonal, according to the report.
