Indeed, in the first half of 2021, earthquakes, hurricanes, storms, floods, etc. spawned nearly $91 billion in economic losses. It is 72 billion dollars that were lost during the first half of 2022.
Other disasters are related to man-made disasters. Adding these to the economic losses generated by the disasters in the first half of 2021, the losses amount to 95 billion dollars. One year later, in the first half of 2022, economic losses from disasters counting the human disasters amount to a total of 75 billion dollars. These disasters generated by humans can for example be industrial accidents or any type of accident related to human activity.
