“Ak Bars” won with CSKA 3: 2 (0: 1, 1: 0, 1: 1, 1: 0) in overtime.
A new KHL record was set in the first period. Namely, the first goal in the opening match of the season was scored in 51 seconds, when CSKA defender Dmitry Samorukov stood out. This was also KHL’s first goal for the defender.
The visitors equalized in the sixth minute of the second third when Stefan da Costa realized the numerical majority from the point of the haul. In the fourth minute of the final third, Antons Sļepiševs again led CSKA, but five minutes later he had a chance to reach 3: 1. The hockey player did not realize the “bull”.
Six minutes before the end of the regular time, Justin Azevedo scored the second goal of “Ak Bars”, but in the second minute of extra time, playing in the minority, the victory puck was thrown by Dmitry Voronkov.
On Thursday, seven games will be played in the KHL championship, in one of which Riga “Dinamo” will host Nursultana “Baris” in its field.
Last KHL season ended prematurely due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, with the league management announcing the final distribution of seats on May 7.
Last year, CSKA managed to get one title, because the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR) crowned the club as the national champion.
